American Flag Everything

And I do mean everything. It's a trend you cannot get away from. The American Flag print has been a key spring/ summer essential. But now I'm kind of sick of it (said the person with American Flag shorts, jumpers and leggings). They really have thought of everything, from: jumpers, leggings, bikinis, shorts, jeans, demin jackets, etc. So if your not sick of the trend you can get this stuff from Topshop (who brought this style back in fashion with their American Flag high waisted shorts), New Look, River Island, missguided.co.uk and eBay. Famous faces include Rihanna and Ke$ha who are fans of the print.
But it looks like the new 'print' trend to watch out for is camouflage, so get it quick #helpfultip #yourwelcome.

We Most Certainly Found Love

Yesterday I was flicking through the  music channels and 'We Found Love' came on. While I was watching I noticed that this song came out last year and the clothing in it was all the stuff that we are wearing now.

From the bralets and matching skirts, Creepers and American Flag print everything. Rihanna's video shows alot of trends that we are sporting right now.

If your looking for some of these fashion choices I would try:
For American Flag Printed Clothes and Creepers: one word eBay they have everything and it's usually a lot cheaper too (or for creepers if you want the real thing go to topshop.com or office.co.uk).
For bralets and matching skirts: River Island or missguided.co.uk #yourwelcome.

Rizzle Kicks and Shoes Make Everything Better

I watched Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model yesterday (there is a point to this story I promise). Usually when I watch it I get annoyed because they have the opportunity of a lifetime and they just complain all the time #ridiculous.

So after they whined for like 30 minutes they were finally told what the theme of the photo shoot was. There were selling shoes in a shoot with Rizzle Kicks, and I loved the outcome of the photos so I decided I would tell you all about them.
This first photo above has the model Roxanne in it, who was having a particularly hard week being away from her daughter (whining I can actually understand). The photo came out well and she commanded the photo and tried lots of different poses and ended up getting second photo of the week.

This next photo is of Lisa (who got first photo of the week, and rightly deserved). I love the way her face and pose look in this photo and the way her and the boys interacted worked well. I also like Lisa as a person on the show because she is grateful and happy to be there and realises what a big opportunity this is and she's Irish, which is always a plus. So I hope she wins #favourite.
This next photo was by Anita, I love they way every one's shoes look in this photo, especially Anita's I love this type of shoe, they can be found at the Top shop's website. If you're a fan of Rizzle Kicks shoes (and if you're a male this is an example of how boys should be dressing) they can be found at office.co.uk under Nike Male/ Female shoes.

This photo below to the left is Risikat, usually I like her because she doesn't get involved in all the petty arguments and whine all the time. But this week she had a mini meltdown that cost her the challenge when she walked off. Luckily she redeemed herself with her photo. I love it since the three of them seem to fit together.

The photo below to the right is Letitia who is a favourite. She knows she's good, so no one likes her, I predict her in the final because she's good at what she does. The judges didn't like her photo this week but I thought it was really good and I thought her and Rizzle Kicks looked like a 90's crew (that I would love to be apart of #justsaying).

If You Have This In Your Wardrobe Lets Talk

Is everyone happy the X Factor is back on our screens? Yeah, me too. But did anyone watch the Xtra Factor?? Host Caroline Flack is definitely getting her fashion choices right this year.

I must say that Caroline's best outfit of the show was her pink short suit. I did some research and found its from Topshop (but its all sold out #sadface). So I looked for any other short suits. River Island are doing these kind of suits in tweed and cheetah print.

I think this is a style that is here to stay for next summer so we might aswell buy in advance #notkidding. And I think Robbie Williams is trying to hop on the trend when he was spotted wearing a pink suit while filming his new music video. Oh look something for the boys! #bravery

Nail Dilema

I think its sad that the only creative thing I can think to take part in is my nails, but I have plenty of timeon my hands so I might aswell blog about it.

Usually when I do my nails I go for one block colour like: black, white, red, pink and peach #boring. But for the Olympics I really wanted to get Union Jack nails like Rebecca Adlington or Victoria Pendelton, but the moments gone so oh well. I suppose I could do it for the Paralympics.

So I decided the place to look for inspiration was tumblr (http://overlyfashionobsessed.tumblr.com/). I just searched nail art to see what came up and loads of different styles did. Any theme you can think off someone has had their nails done this way and blogged it (guess I'm not the only one with time on their hands).

Once when I was in Year 9, we had to give a presentation on instructing our class to do something (mine was on how to make chocolate chip cookies, because aside from fashion food is my one true love). Anyway two people in my class did it on nail art and showed us all the tools they had to create different designs (I decided it wasn't for me because you have to have a steady hand which I do not). Now I wished I had paid more attention. But now they have those nail stickers. The ones you can just stick on your nails and they stay on for (they say) two weeks, then you just take them off and try another style. I think this might me the answer to my problems.

Let's Try and Relive the 60's (With A Few Adjustments)

Or so they tell me since I wasn't born until thirty years later, but if I had to switch decades I would love to have been a teenager in the 60's. The only way I get to relive it is by the movies, and one I believe that captures how cool the 60's was has to be Hairspray. The lack of equality for people that are different, the fashion and the characters capture my interest for the full film.

After watching this movie for what seems like the 100th time, I wondered what school was like back then and how the female role model of their day was Jackie Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe. And hows this shows in their fashion choices such as full dresses, tight clothes and big hair. Or how the boys of this generation wore tight fitting suits (that are in fashion now), and slicked back hair, and as the movie points out lots of hairspray.

And I for one miss this sense of style. Going to both British and American schools, our dress does not quite meet up to the criteria of our ancestors. I would love to wear the full dresses like the girls on The Corny Collins Show wear, and the boys to wear the suits that they show in this film. I think it shows structure, promise and a sense of togetherness. I hope this is the way the future is heading because lets face it we get our best fashion ideas from the past. #truestory.

A Classy Uniform

If I could look like anyone in the world it would have to Janelle Monae. Her face, style and hair is flawless. She is one of the most individual artists in the music industry today.

Her signature look is a Tuxedo suit. She once said "I would be buried in it it. It is a standard  uniform, it’s so classy and it’s a lifestyle I enjoy. The tux keeps me balanced. I look at myself as a canvas. I don’t want to cloud myself with too many colours or I’ll go crazy. It’s an experiment I’m doing."

I for one love her style, she always looks polished and dressed for the best of occasions. It reminds me of the way people would dress 50 years ago, and wish more people would do the same.
