For Those Of Us Who Unfortunately Have To Go Back School:

When I had to wear a school uniform (I feel so old saying that, even though it was just a couple of months ago) I wanted it to look like the cast of Gossip Girl when they attended the Constance Billard School for Girls. I loved Blair, Serena and the Girls on the Steps' fashion sense. The way they were all still individualised even though they had a uniform. Which is what they are always telling us to do at school and then they take it away from us by making us all dress the same. That's the English education system for you. Anyway they may determine what we wear but some schools (like my old one) more than others are better at allowing accessories and coats to individualise our fashion choices. Which is where the cast of Gossip Girl comes in. Even though they wear uniforms they each have their own individual styles.

Blair Waldorf: she takes preppy to a whole new level. She will never be seen without a headband and structured/ tailored outfit on her back. She likes bold, bright and key colours, and somehow always manages to get away with them. If your school are Ninjas about the uniform, the way to apply this is by: headbands (obviously, you can't do Blair Waldorf style without a headband), Brightly coloured jackets and knitwear, and very sensible shoes such a brogues or loafers (I think we should just leave the heels to the tv show). I think Zara's the best way to go.

Serena van der Woodsen: she has effortless style, like she just got out of bed and threw on whatever was on her bedroom floor. She loves easy clothes and accesorising with jewellery and statement pieces. This could possibly be done by blouses instead of those crisp shirts that are so stiff they hurt around your neck. Skinny trousers (this was always a problem at my school they were like secret service about it, but eventually they gave in and let us wear them in the end) if you get those school ones made out of that horrible polyester material, be warned they break in a heartbeat. Leather jackets or Trench coats are also a key piece, lots of scarves and (if your school allows it) vintage jewellery.

So when you go back to school in September or whenever you go back you'll have a little piece of individuality, well sort of its from Blair and Serena, but I'm sure they won't mind.
